Storage Space Measurement

Radha

How is a storage space measured under BOMA? Are there any gross-ups involved? If yes, when might a gross-up be in place when calculating the measurement for a storage space? For example, if tenant occupied etc?

Thank you

Hi Radha,

Under BOMA 1996, Tenant Storage is grossed up exactly the same as any other tenant. However, subsequent BOMA office standards (2010 and 2017) do not include Occupant Storage as part the Rentable Area of the building, and so there is no gross-up applied.

Thanks,
David
